That third is retinal, a step more active than retinol, held in capsules so it stays stable rather than degrading in the bottle, which is the usual failure of retinal formulas.
The honest caveat is that this is an ambitious stack for skin new to actives. If you have not used a retinoid before, start elsewhere. If you already tolerate retinol and niacinamide, the appeal is real: fewer steps, fewer bottles, and no rota.
Use at night, every third evening at first, building up slowly. Sunscreen the following morning is not optional with a retinoid, and it matters doubly here since every other active in the bottle works on pigment.

How is retinal different from retinol?

Morning or night?

Can I use it with acids?
