How it feels
A light gel that gives a low, soft lather and rinses instantly. Skin feels supple rather than tight - the test a morning cleanser has to pass.

Betaine Salicylate
A mild BHA at low dose. Enough to keep pores clear over daily use, deliberately not enough to sensitise skin before a day of sun.
Tea Tree Oil
A small amount, for congestion-prone skin. It is also why anyone reactive to essential oils should check the list first.
Allantoin
Offsets the mild drying effect any wash has, which is what keeps skin comfortable rather than tight.
Panthenol
Provitamin B5, supporting the barrier a cleanser inevitably disturbs twice a day.
About the product
COSRX's Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is built around a question most cleansers ignore: what should a morning wash actually do?
Overnight, skin produces oil and sheds cells but does not accumulate sunscreen, makeup or pollution. A morning cleanser therefore needs to remove very little - and using a strong wash at that hour strips the barrier before a day of sun and air-conditioning. This formula is designed for exactly that role. It is mildly acidic, closer to skin's own pH than a traditional foaming wash, so it cleans without disrupting the acid mantle.
Betaine salicylate appears at low dose - enough to keep pores clear with daily use, not enough to sensitise skin or interfere with an acid or retinoid used later. A small amount of tea tree oil supports congestion-prone skin, and allantoin and panthenol offset the mild drying any cleanser causes.
Use a small amount on damp skin, work it for twenty seconds and rinse with lukewarm water. Skin should feel supple afterwards. If it feels tight or squeaky, you are using too much - it lathers less than you expect by design.

Frequently asked questions
Why does it barely foam?
That is deliberate. High foam usually means sulfates at high pH, which is what strips skin. The low lather is the formula working as intended, not a small amount of product.
Can I use it at night too?
As a second cleanse after an oil cleanser, yes. On its own at night it will not remove sunscreen or makeup properly - that needs an oil or balm first.
Will the BHA conflict with my other actives?
No. The dose is low and it is in a product you rinse off within a minute. It will not interfere with a retinoid or a leave-on acid used later.
Is it suitable for dry or sensitive skin?
The low pH and the allantoin make it one of the gentler daily cleansers available. It does contain tea tree oil, so patch test if you react to essential oils specifically.
Do I need to cleanse in the morning at all?
If your skin is oily or you use actives overnight, yes - a light wash removes what has surfaced. If your skin is very dry, water alone in the morning is a legitimate alternative.
