Niacinamide is the ingredient that makes combining them viable - it works on post-acne marks and, over sustained use, on the appearance of pores. BHA handles the pore side more directly, being oil-soluble and therefore able to work inside the pore rather than only on the surface. Panthenol keeps a moisturiser containing actives comfortable for daily use.
