Read the first four ingredients and you have the whole product: heartleaf water, glycerin, an amino-acid cleanser, and only then water. That ordering is unusual and it is the point - the soothing part of the formula is the base it is built on, not something added at the end for the label.
A dense cream that whips into a fine foam and rinses without squeak. Skin feels soft rather than tight afterwards - the sign the amino-acid surfactants are doing the work.

Houttuynia cordata flower, leaf and stem water at 33.32%, first in the list. It replaces most of the water a foam is usually built on.

The antioxidant the product is named for, last in the list. It comes from the heartleaf itself rather than being added separately.

Sodium cocoyl glycinate and sodium lauroyl glutamate - mild, low-pH surfactants that clean without the tightness sulfates leave.

Betaine salicylate and capryloyl salicylic acid, both at trace level. Enough to keep pores clear in a rinse-off step, not enough to sensitise.
Anua's Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam is the wash step of the heartleaf line, and its ingredient order tells you more than any claim on the front.
Houttuynia Cordata Flower/Leaf/Stem Water sits first at 33.32% - a third of the formula, in place of the plain water most foams are built on. Glycerin is second. Only then comes the cleansing system: sodium cocoyl glycinate and sodium lauroyl glutamate, amino-acid surfactants that work at low pH and clean without the tight, squeaky finish of a sulfate wash. There is also Houttuynia Cordata Powder at 3,000ppm further down, so the heartleaf is present in two forms.
Two salicylic acid derivatives - betaine salicylate and capryloyl salicylic acid - appear at trace level. In a rinse-off product that is deliberate: enough to help keep pores clear over daily use, not enough to sensitise skin that is already reactive. A long hyaluronic complex and quercetin, the antioxidant the name refers to, close the list.
It suits skin that is genuinely oily but flushes easily - the type that finds most pore-focused washes too harsh and most gentle washes not cleansing enough. Use it as the second step after an oil cleanser at night, or on its own in the morning.
The tell is the first ingredient. Most foams open with water; this one opens with 33% heartleaf water, which means the calming part of the formula is the base rather than a token extract near the end of the list. That is what makes it usable on skin that is oily and easily flushed at the same time - the combination we get asked about most.

Lather a small amount in wet hands, massage over damp skin for 30 seconds, and rinse with lukewarm water. Use morning and night, after oil cleansing in the evening.

It is built the other way around. The cleansing agents are amino-acid based rather than sulfates, the pH is low, and a third of the formula is heartleaf water. The salicylic acid derivatives are at trace level in a product you rinse off within a minute.
Yes for most oily and combination skin. If your skin runs dry or tight in air-conditioning, use it at night and rinse with water only in the morning.
There is no Parfum or Fragrance in the ingredient list. It does contain eucalyptus globulus leaf oil low down, so if you react to essential oils specifically, check the list before buying.
It helps keep pores from filling again, which is what a wash can realistically do. Existing blackheads need a leave-on step - a BHA toner or serum - because a cleanser is not on the skin long enough to clear them.
The name refers to quercetin, an antioxidant naturally present in heartleaf. It appears at the end of the ingredient list, sourced from the same plant the rest of the formula is built on.
