A product that stays on skin all night has a low tolerance for filler. This one keeps the list short and puts three rice-derived ingredients in it - a ferment, a bran extract, and a second ferment. It is the step for a week when your skin has stopped agreeing with everything else.

Rice Bran Extract

Abib's Rice Probiotics Overnight Mask is a recovery step rather than a treatment, and its seventeen-ingredient list is the reason we stock it.
Three of those ingredients are rice-derived. Lactobacillus/Rice Ferment sits fifth, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract ninth, and Saccharomyces/Rice Bran Ferment twelfth. Fermenting rice breaks its starches and proteins into smaller fragments, which is why fermented rice appears so often in Korean formulations aimed at dull, tired skin rather than a specific concern.
The rest of the formula is deliberately plain. Glycerin and diglycerin hold water; glyceryl polymethacrylate gives the cushiony gel its slip; adenosine and allantoin sit near the end for smoothing and calming. There is no fragrance, no essential oil and no colourant anywhere in the list - unusual for a product designed to stay on skin for eight hours.
Use it as the final step two or three nights a week, over your usual serum. It suits the week after too much exfoliation, a long flight, or a stretch of air-conditioning - the situations where the answer is fewer ingredients rather than stronger ones.

Do I use this instead of my moisturiser?
It replaces the last step of your night routine. Apply your serum first, then this in place of your usual cream. On very dry skin you can layer it over a light moisturiser instead.
How often should I use it?
Two or three nights a week is enough for most people. It is a recovery step rather than a nightly one - though during a genuinely rough patch there is no harm in several nights in a row.
Will it transfer onto my pillowcase?
It absorbs over the first twenty to thirty minutes and should not transfer once settled. Apply it a little before bed rather than immediately as you lie down.
Does it contain fragrance?
No. There is no Parfum, Fragrance or essential oil anywhere in the seventeen-ingredient list - one of the reasons we recommend it for skin that has become reactive.
Can I use it with actives like retinol or acids?
Yes, and it is a useful partner for them. Apply the active first, let it settle, then use this as the final step. It contains nothing that conflicts with retinol, acids or vitamin C.
